How did I solve AGI? By following neuroscience until observation met theory. It's the scientific method that is possible in natural sciences like cognitive science, but not in formal sciences like artificial intelligence.
My claim dates back 25 years when I explained the theory on national radio in Australia in which a brain needed to do something other than computation in order to throw a ball, due to the slow speed of neurons and the large numbers of sequential muscle controls needed.
AGI here means a general approach to AI in which the differing senses, combinations of multiple senses and motion controls all use a common model - the Pattern-atom or just Patom.
Today's video looks at the harsh reality of others hoping to solve AGI soon, without a scientific breakthrough, since most computer science approaches in AI date back to the 1960s or earlier without previous success.
And where can we go next to take advantage of improved AI tools such as those needed for language understanding and conversation? Language learning is one place, but let's leave the details until next time.
